How the cat food estimate works

The calculator uses RER = 70 x kg^0.75, then applies a multiplier for indoor, active, kitten or weight-loss situations. It subtracts treat calories and splits the remaining calories between wet and dry food.

Cat feeding tips

Many indoor cats need fewer calories than package estimates suggest.
Wet food can help some cats increase water intake, but calorie density varies.
