$30 an Hour Is How Much a Year?
Turn an hourly wage into annual, monthly and weekly income. Compare two job offers, paid and unpaid leave, overtime, commuting and a monthly budget. Results update as you type.
40 hours per week × 52 paid weeks. Before deductions, without overtime or bonuses.
30 × 40 × 52 = 62400 USD
All amounts are in US dollars (USD). Changing the page language does not convert currencies or select a country’s tax rules.
Build your income plan
The model uses 52 weeks. Paid leave earns regular pay but no overtime; unpaid leave earns neither. Enter overtime weeks if you work overtime in only part of the year.
Leave withholding blank until you have an estimate. The entered percentage applies to total gross pay; other deductions are then subtracted. This is not a country-specific tax calculation.
Commuting time applies only to days worked. Monthly commute cost is a 12-month average. Effective hourly pay includes commuting time and subtracts commuting costs; it is not the contractual wage.

Deductions exceed gross pay. A negative result is a shortfall, not a payable negative wage.
Compare pay periods
These are annualized averages: 52 weekly, 26 every-two-week, 24 twice-monthly and 12 monthly payments. An actual payroll calendar can have extra pay dates. Daily regular pay uses your weekly hours divided by working days.
Compare two job offers
Compare both income and time. Benefits, employment rights, job security and personal circumstances are not priced into this model.

Hourly wage (USD) · Annual gross pay
Part-time and full-time income
Regular hours per week · Annual gross pay
Gross annual pay using Offer A’s assumptions. Only the hourly wage or regular weekly hours changes. Invalid schedules are omitted from the graph and marked in the table.
Where the yearly pay comes from
Regular pay + overtime + bonus = gross pay. Estimated withholding and other deductions are shown separately; they are not extra income.
What would a pay rise add?
The +1, +2 and +5 USD examples change only Offer A’s hourly wage. They keep hours, leave, overtime and bonus unchanged; the increase is gross, before deductions.
Plan a monthly budget
Budget results require a withholding estimate. Job commuting costs are included automatically once; do not enter them again under other transport. Zero expenses are placeholders, not affordability advice.

Use the estimate responsibly
These pages answer US-dollar wage questions, not local minimum-wage or tax questions. A 52-week planning year is not a payroll calendar. Overtime eligibility and rates depend on your contract and applicable rules; the multiplier here is an assumption, not a legal entitlement. Bonuses and deductions are annual totals. Check actual pay slips and employment terms before making decisions.

Frequently asked questions
What is the standard yearly pay for this hourly wage?
The standard amount below assumes 40 hours a week and 52 paid weeks, before deductions and without bonuses or overtime. $62,400.
Are every-two-week and twice-monthly payments the same?
No. Every two weeks usually means 26 payments in an annualized estimate; twice monthly means 24. These averages do not model an actual payroll calendar.
Does paid leave reduce yearly pay?
Paid leave preserves regular pay in this model, but overtime is earned only in worked weeks. Unpaid leave reduces both paid weeks and working weeks.
Why is there no automatic net-pay result?
Actual taxes depend on location and individual circumstances. Enter your own combined withholding estimate and annual deductions to see an illustrative net result.
How much extra does a one-dollar hourly raise add?
At 40 hours a week for 52 paid weeks, with no overtime, a 1 USD hourly raise adds 2,080 USD in yearly gross pay. Your customized raise table also accounts for your entered overtime and leave.
Why can a higher hourly wage be less attractive?
Unpaid leave, commuting costs and commuting time can change the effective hourly return. Compare both offers under your own assumptions; non-cash benefits are outside the model.
